As part of our enhancements to our services and major upgrades to our network within the Brisbane Data Centre we are now offering all Linux CPanel Resellers a remote redundant DNS service.
This new service will take your existing second nameserver (generally ns2.yourdomain) and will run a second dns copy from one of our Dual Quad Core Xeon servers in Seattle. This means all your clients sites will have a DNS record in Australia and one in the US, meaning in the event of a failure of the local dns, for whatever reason, the US DNS record will continue to work, allowing clients with remote mailservers etc to continue working.
In order for this to work we are asking for all clients to immediately update their second NS record to use the IP 208.43.179.180
To do this you will need to login to the registry where your master domain is registered and update the IP address attached to the nameserver. In some systems this is called the Child or Host nameserver. Some Registry's such as MelbourneIT and NetRegistry require you to contact their support department to make this change.
We ask that all resellers please make change by 5pm Friday 7th November 2008 to avoid any DNS interruptions, which may result after that date due to the network changes we are making to our Brisbane network.
If you have any queries or concerns about this change and enhancement to your service please let us know.
