This is an open invitation to all Alpine Hosting Resellers and in particular the Wallace server.
As some of you may know the Wallace server has faced quite a few niggling routing and mail server issues over the past 2 months, and quite frankly we don't think this is acceptable. A majority of the issues are related to routing to the Fremont data centre, and as such we have decided to discontinue our association with this data centre.
While we will continue to operate the Wallace server while there are clients on this server, we have made a decision to offer all Resellers the chance to move to one of our new 3.0Ghz Servers at 'The Planet' data centre, which is located in Dallas Texas.
We have configured a new Pentium 4 server called "Perisher" with the following specs:
• Intel P4 - 3.0Ghz w/ hyper-threading
• 800 MHz Front Side Bus
• 1024 MB RAM
• 2x800 GB 7200 RPM HDD
• Dual Integrated NICS
• 100Mbit Connection
This new server is at the top of its class and features the latest version of CPanel installed and configured ready to go. The Planet data centre offers excellent upstream providers including GIGE connections to UUNet, Level 3, Verio, Time Warner, Global Crossing, Allegiance Telecom and an OC3 connection to ATT.
This allows for far better speeds and connections, especially from Australia.
