I'd like to bring my wife's site across to you. My main question is ...is the version of osCommerce within Fantastico the AU loaded version or will I have to manually download it from Snowtech and install myself?
I used fantastico to install my original version of osc on our old server and it went effortlessly.
Having read of just a few of the hassles of installing manually on the osc forum I'd really like to avoid those issues

I thank you for your prompt reply.
I'll take you up on your kind offer with gratitude.
I'm about to go live with my first edition of another copy of OSC so best I stay available for that, but I shall return early next week and start the ball rolling.
Talk to you then

Hi Snowman. It took a while longer for me to get back to this than I expected. My other instance of Osc has taken up much more of my time than I anticipated.
Rather than take you up on your offer to install AULoaded I thought I would "Have a go" at self install.
Shouldn't have.

I've uploaded all the files to this server and synchronised them via Dreamweaver. I'm satisfied they are all there and in their correct order.
I've also created a DB although that was a bit of an excercise as your version of CPanel has several minor variations from the version I'm used to on another server. Minor perhaps, but enough to have me concerned as to whether or not I've done all this correctly.

When I attempt to follow the install links via mydomain/install/ I get the following error message

Host 'fallscreek.myserverdns.net' is blocked because of many connection errors; unblock with 'mysqladmin flush-hosts'

I have NO idea what it means. In case it was telling me there was temporary excess traffic at that server I left it for 24 hours and tried again. Still no go.

So...ok, in the interest of expediency I think I better put my hand up to say "HELP!"

My domain is granmashouse.com

Also...one of the many reasons I came to Apline was for the shared SSL but I find no reference to it on CPanel???

What other info do you need?

BTW...this installation is still not red hot urgent. I've deliberately chosen a very minor hosting package as it will be some time before we plan to go live with this installation. The sole purpose of installing it now is so I can do whatever tweaks are needed in peace.
So no need to bust any boilers.

are you getting this error from your local copy of oscommerce or while running it on the server? Looking at the site copy it looks like the configuration isnt setup right

Drop in a ticket at the helpdesk and i will take a look at the error
